Pricing
How pricing works
We don't price a yard from a photo. Here is what the number depends on, in the order people ask.
What decides the price
Mostly square feet and how much has to be done before the sod goes down.
Square feet of sod, plus cuts and waste
Old grass to remove and soil to fix
Slope, gates and how close the truck can get
Which grass you pick
What the estimate includes, and what it doesn't
A written scope you can read line by line.
Included: sod, delivery, prep, laying, rolling, haul-off and a watering schedule
Not included: sprinkler repair, drainage work, trees or fence changes unless the estimate lists them
What happens at the walk-through
One of us walks the yard with you, checks the light, measures, and looks at where the water goes. Plan on about half an hour.
Which grass, and how much
Sod is priced by the pallet and the grass. Bermuda, zoysia and St. Augustine do not cost the same, and the estimate shows each line.
Pallets counted from your measurements
A little extra for cuts, listed on the estimate
How you pay
A deposit holds your date and orders the sod. The balance is due when the job is finished and you have walked it with us. The estimate says how much each is.
When you get the number
After the walk-through, in writing: one price for the scope on the page, with the dates we propose. If the scope changes, the estimate changes, and we say so before we start.
Before you ask
What helps us give you a number
- 01
A rough size
Square feet if you know them, or the length and width of the areas.
- 02
The sun
Sun all day, some shade or mostly shade. Our chooser has a quick test.
- 03
A photo
Text one of the whole yard. It helps us come prepared, but we still measure.
- 04
Access
A gate, a slope or a narrow side yard changes how pallets get to the back.
