Questions
Questions we hear most
How much does it cost?
It depends on square feet, what has to come out first, access and which grass you pick. The pricing page lists what decides it, and the written estimate comes after the walk-through.
How soon can you start, and how long does it take?
It depends on the calendar and the weather. The estimate proposes dates. Most yards are laid in a day or two once the ground is ready.
Are you licensed and insured?
The footer of every page shows our state license line and our insurance record, and we send the insurance certificate on request.
What happens at the estimate?
One of us walks the yard with you for about half an hour, checks the sun, the slope and the soil, and measures. The written estimate follows.
How do I pay?
A deposit holds your date and orders the sod, and the balance is due when you have walked the finished job with us. The estimate shows both amounts.
What if it rains, or freezes?
Light rain is fine. In heavy rain or a hard freeze we move the day, and we call you to pick a new one.
What do I do before you arrive?
Flag sprinkler heads, clear the path to the back, move cars and toys, and have a hose bib working. Dogs inside, please.
What areas do you serve?
Waco and the towns around it in McLennan County, plus Valley Mills. The Where we work page has the list and the places we don't go.
What grass should I choose?
Count the hours of direct summer sun: eight or more is Bermuda, four to six is zoysia, under four is St. Augustine. The grass chooser has more, and we check the light on site.
Is it okay for my kids and dogs?
Keep kids, dogs and mowers off new sod for about two weeks. If you use a lawn product later, follow the label for how long to stay off.
Do you mow or care for lawns after?
We write you a first-year watering and mowing plan and check the roots once it has taken. We don't run a weekly mowing route.
Do you install sprinklers?
No. A licensed irrigator does that first, and we lay sod once the zones are tested.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. Urbano, Gabriel and Amparo speak Spanish, and every page of this site has a Spanish version. Use the language button at the top.
